Grow It and Show It! Annuals, Perennials, Herbs and Pollinators. Roses. Dahlias. Corms, Tubers and Rhizomes. Be inspired by your own garden and enter the show.


Our Events Include

Artistic Exhibit

See the Kent-Valentine House transformed with judged flower arrangements filling first floor living areas. Each room will feature a variety of related styles, chosen in advance by the exhibitor. Judges will be available throughout the afternoon to answer questions.

Horticulture Exhibit

Be inspired when you enter the John Marshall Ballroom filled with horticulture exhibits. The schedule includes annuals, perennials, bulbs, herbs, roses and more. Bring an entry and maybe take home a ribbon. Judges will be available for questions when the show opens.

Luncheon Lecture with Karen Rexrode

Enjoy luncheon in the Marshall Ballroom and a presentation titled "The Unlikely Cut Flower" by noted horticulturist and photographer Karen Rexrode, former owner and operator of Windy Hill Plant Farm. The Special Event fee is $50 and requires preregistration. SOLD OUT

Lessons from Flower Farm Girls

Learn from the experts. Nelson County residents and neighbors Foxie Morgan of Pharsalia and Beverly Lacey of Blue Heron Farm will present Lessons from the Flower Farm Girls: How to Grow Practically Perfect Peonies and Definitely Dazzling Dahlias.

Backyard Earth Savers

Pearl Homes in Virginia Beach and James River Hero Homes have far reaching community impact. Learn how we can implement earth saving ideas in our own backyards. Learn how wildlife is affected by trash in our waterways and what we can do to minimize our impact.

Challenge the Floral Design Judges

Watch three GCV certified floral design judges participate in a Challenge Class. Each judge will create an arrangement in place with the materials and containers provided, unseen prior to the event. Audience members will be asked to judge each arrangement.

Sip and See

Gather at the Kent-Valentine House at 5:00 pm for bubbly and refreshments as you enjoy the flower arrangements and chat with judges. Or enjoy some last minute shopping and horticulture browsing at the John Marshall where wine will be available.

Flower Arranging School

Don’t miss our traditional Flower Arranging School featuring renowned Atlanta party planners and floral designers Tricky Wolfes and Kathy Rainer. The Special Event fee which includes Continental breakfast is $50 and requires preregistration.

Arranger's Workshop

Spend Wednesday afternoon with Flower Arranging School duo Tricky Wolfes and Kathy Rainer with hand on instructions. This Special Event requires preregistration. The $85 fee includes all workshop plant material and instruction. SOLD OUT
